Vampire: The Masquerade 5th Edition, or just Vampire V, has started to make the rounds and people... are not all that impressed. Most of the good is outweighed by the bad, but what's your take on this?
Lovingly stolen from /v/ so I'm sure some of their anti-trolling stuff doesn't apply to us.

How do you write believable aliens /tg/? I can’t break the mold of modeling them off human cultures with slightly different traits. I want to create something truly alien but not retarded and unrelateable for my players.
Mostly playing Traveler but also Star Trek and 40k and I’m getting sick of stock aliens
I'm trying to read more of my RPG books because they keep stacking up, and even if I wanted to run one of these systems with my friends, I don't know them well enough to GM them. Since we're between games and the new year has starter, this seems like a great time.
Today, we're going to start with OVA, The Open Versatile Anime Roleplaying Game. Recommended often by other fat/tg/uys for it's animu trappings and ease of use when adapting animu settings and themes.
Follow along if you want: anon <dot> to/9DkFkF
Full Disclosure: I did back this game on kikestarter. They were quick to finish and deliver, so there's that.

It had been a pleasant afternoon in the courtyard above the Terran smog layer. The orange rays of the setting Terran sun lit up the gold trimmings on the guard rails.
The Emperor was dressed in exercise robes, and so was Angron, albeit more bloodstained.
The Emperor dove for the ball Angron had pitched, barely catching it before it flew over the edge and was lost forever. The Emperor smiled, happy with his son's improvement. He held the baseball in his gigantic mitt, fondly gazing at the Old World stitching and faded characters. He could see 'N C Y NK E 19 6,' and could make out the almost unnoticeable pen imprints for the ' Y A E S 9 ' in the dying light of day. He almost lost himself in the memories
<"Hey Dad, pass the ball!"
The Emperor looked up to see Angron, the nails sticking out of his head, waving his arms up and down. He clenched his mitt, and walked over to his broken, damaged son. He took the ball out of his mitt and handed it to Angron. Angron looked at the proffered token, and his eyes welled with tears. For the first time in his life, he couldn't feel the Nails biting. Angron met his father's gaze and sprung forward in a giant bear hug. The Emperor, momentarily startled, wrapped his arms around his son.
>"I love you, son."
<"I love you too, Dad."
Angron begins to weep tears of joy as that Lucky Old Sun finally dipped under the horizon.
This thread is for GM's to talk about campaigns they're running and Game Master experiences.
>running a game today
>start trying to take notes and get ready for it
>getting distracted
>decide "fuck it, i'll improvise the rest"
does this happen to anyone else every single time?
I used to meticulously plan my sessions and character stats and everything. Now I just take a few notes for events and outlines for sessions and improvise the rest. I've been doing this for all my sessions lately, I guess I'm past the "meticulous planning" stage of GMing.
What games ya running, lads? I'm currently ~24-25 sessions into my Legends of the Wulin campaign. PC's are getting ready to rally all the surviving Wulin fighters in the land in a rebellion against the Dynasty after the "Emperor was assassinated" and power assumed by a eunuch demonic sorcerer.
I'm getting a few people into dnd, and the only way to convince a friend to play is to tell him i would give him a magic sword that can do shit with water and ice (my friend is a sperg for that shit)
The sword casts low level spells that get stronger if you spend feats to "link" the item with the users soul or some crap like that, the sword also dehidrates the user everytime a spell is casted from it.
Is it balanced?
Post tropes, cliches, myths, or just commonly thought information some people get wrong, pertaining to time periods, settings, stuff in those periods, etc.
For me I like:
>horns or other extremities on helmets and armor
Dislike:
>a-armor is too heavy to move around in, y-you need a crane to put them on their horse
>Magic’s limits are often as important as the capabilities
>—at least, they are for making things interesting.
>Consider Unknown Armies. (It’s another game I worked on.)
>Magick in Unknown Armies (yes, it’s got that K) is versatile and powerful, but has severe limits, too.
>One of the principal ones is this: Magick cannot override human will. It just can’t.
>It can make you want something, or fear something, it can take over your body... but it cannot make you choose.
>Only you choose.
>The central issue of Unknown Armies is personal character, so having an inviolate character was essential.
>Acting under duress or having your body act against your directions—all that raises questions of identity. If my arms strangle someone, am I a murderer? Even if I tried to stop them?
>When you’re building a game, see if you can identify magic uses that are poison to your central
concept.
>If I’m doing an exploration game, I don’t want magic to take the trouble out of travel. For a game of revenge, I don’t want the PCs to level up, learn the Spell of Phantom Stalking Doom, cast it on the main bad guy, and then have a light supper while the magic flits off to what should have been the climax of the game. A quest game won’t be fun if there’s simple magic that leads the PCs where they need to go—or that leads their enemies right to them.

Previous thread:
This is the thread for discussing politics as they affect /tg/ material. The last thread is past the bump limit so I'm making a new one. We previously discussed how to effectively support new material and how to avoid pozzed shit.
Today, let's discuss the myriad ways companies, communities, (((communities))), and social media addicts are going out of their way to monitor you and blacklist you from their garbage before you even get started. For smaller companies this isn't an issue, but when someone like WotC does it, there is more cause for concern.
In particular, their new product Magic: The Gathering Arena, contains the Redshell spyware suite; Redshell is used to generate unique device IDs based on your device when you click on advertisements and play games. It cross-references these IDs to get more data on users and their gameplay. Among other things, it can track your:
>OS, time zone, language, screen resolution, fonts
>internet browsers' versions
>unique device ID which it generates based on your hardware without your permission
>associated accounts (Steam, Xbox Live, PSN)
>IP address
It can give this data to third party companies. What does WotC have to say about it? (https://mtgarena.community.gl/forums/threads/28170 - no archive due to godawful website design)
>RedShell is an ad attribution platform. We’ll be using it to see which ads are working and which aren’t. It is not spyware my dudes.
Here’s how it works:
>you click on an ad, which we set up to redirect through RedShell, RedShell gives you an ID based on your system that is unique.
>They aren’t collecting any additional data.
<Also, RedShell is run by Innervate, a small company that is local to Seattle — we know the folks who work there, they built our forums and help us run those too. They’re legit.
Needless to say, this was memory holed as soon as it appeared on the official rebbit. Seems ripe for digging if anyone feels like looking into Innervate.

"In as much as I am aware, and nine out of ten of my sources concur, we are approaching the end times. Not of this planet of Carstein, not of sector Aetern, not of segmentum Tempestus, but of the whole of the Imperium. I know not what the future holds but a glimmer of hope. Everything that is about to occur will put every human through a hell not seen since the Emperor's internment upon the golden throne, but should we survive the onslaught the whole of the future belongs to us for the rest of eternity. Stand tall my brethren, my sisters, not for our lives but for our children's, for our father's, for each other. We have but ten years to prepare." - the Iron Cardinal
Ætern, the most autismal sector.

Welcome back to 8/tg/'s own custom sector of the Imperium. We laid the foundations and frame of the place back in the first thread, now we need to fill it in. Our goal is to create a better and more compelling sector than halfchan's neglected Tiji. Thus far, we have advanced well in that direction, but we can't stop there. We need a place which can be played in. Together, our autism should be sufficient. Now…
The Ætern Sector Aetern is an acceptable spelling is a part of the Imperium of Man skirting the edges of the Veiled Regions, and within the bounds of Segmentum Tempestus. Imperial forces carved it out some three or four thousand years before the present, but humans have inhabited it for much longer. It is a relatively sparse region of space, only containing a few dozen stars and few planets of mineral wealth; in addition, stellar activity and climates are often colder than average in Ætern, exacerbated by the shadowy phenomena of the Veil (among other factors). The Imperium controls much of the sector, though its reach weakens further into the clouds, and ceases altogether in the region's center. Ætern is divided into four sub-sectors (technically five) surrounding the center, clockwise: Vladimur's Domain, housing the Sector Capital (Carstein), Sothoth Deeps, containing the Adeptus Mechanicus hub (Belmond), Függönyfal, the Veil-choked permanent frontier, and the Bram Highlands, paradoxically containing a seat of Ecclesiarchal control (Himmelwelt) and primary destination for a unique xenos-and-human immigration problem sector-wide. This problem is termed the Pharos Aeterno Effect, an inexplicable lure radiated across the galaxy from the sector's center, the Ænigma Damnatio, a bizarre and impossibly old doppled warp anomaly (composed of the Brass Labyrinthe and the Forever Pit below it). The Pharos draws in the unwanted, the undesirable, and the misfit in their billions every year through infectious dreams, and within Ætern they come to stay. The peoples living within all move to a rhythm of the sector, billions migrating (often in circular fashion) around the sub-sectors. It is their blood, souls, and actions which fuel Ætern, both in mild prosperity and in the coming damnation. The forces of Chaos boil within the center and rampage without, aliens swarm in from all corners of the galaxy, a Daemon-god bellows in its maze, and a great clock counts down to midnight.
WIP / PAINTING THREAD
Previous thread bumplocked and can be found at >>269751
Show your WIPs and completed models. Display you craftmanship, techniques and artistry. Or just post your ugly models so we can laugh at you and eventually give you some advices.
I'll kick off the thread with my WIP of two darksouls and one mutant for my Mordheim's Possessed warband in the hopes of forcing myself to finally finish it
Holy shit guys has anyone read this?
Its Retard the Cucking.
Its everything the crazies could want in a rpg.
I'm laughing but also filled with pure anguish and depression.
Heres some chose quotes from the drivethru page
When the Signal is up, Receivers lead the charge against battalions of Regime infantry and armor or serve as the People's Shield, protecting mass demonstrations from the brutality of a militarized police force and neo-Nazi hooligans. When the Signal is down, however, Receivers are mere mortals, desperately fleeing from a powerful state that senses their weakness.
Content Warning: Explicit language and discussions/depictions of a political ideology centered around extreme bigotry.
I am Greg Stolze, and I'm here to ask you a question. Is a man not entitled to the fun of his RPG?
NO! Says the man at Hasbro, it belongs to full casters!
NO! Says the man at Palladium, it belongs to the Glitter Boys!
NO! Says the man behind Hackmaster, it belongs to the grognards!
I rejected those answers; instead, I chose something different.
I chose the impossible.
I chose... ORE.
A system where the players won't fear the munchkin. Where the gameplay will not be bound by bloated rulesets. Where the GM won't be constrained by rules lawyering!
And with the roll of your d10, ORE can be your system as well.
Would you kindly buy my games?
