GAYMENITE: SWAT 4
>What is it?
<A tactical shooter that has won the hearts and minds of many anons due to it's more slowly paced gameplay, requiring forward thinking and autism for a successful operation.
>Ok? I played the last gaymenite/never played before, why should I participate
<Well, we have added a large assortment of custom community maps which will titillate and excite you, plus, why wouldn't you want to play vidya with anons?
>How do I play?
<Basic FPS controls, save for variances here and there due to the context menu. Just look at the bindings if you're confused.

Greetings commanders, time for an X-com thread
I was going to make a general tactics one but I think we can have a bit more focused discussion.
I started playing again after looking in my games folder and realizing I still haven't beaten X-com again.
I use openXcom for all of the fixes and mods you can get. Speaking of mods there is xpiratez which is set years after earth loses the original battle. The mods getting bloated as fuck and has started doing trivial stuff to waste your time but it does do a bunch of neat shit and it worth checking out.
Finally openapoc is in the works which is open x-com apocalypse. Its chugging right along and if I remember right you could finish the game albeit with bugs.
So how are your bases doing anons?

Not really vidya, but might interest most anons. As you may or may not have noticed HookTube recently stopped working properly. The TLDR is just the creator caving in because of legal threats from Jewgle. There is already a WIP replacement available at (http://invidio.us) that has slightly less features but works similarly to how HookTube used to.
Another alternative is a userscript I created that obtains the direct URL for the video file when you visit a YouTube link, redirects you to it instead and then just plays it in your browser's standard HTML5 player. It should bypass age and country restricted videos but it doesn't work with livestreams and some videos that don't have muxed (audio+video) streams. YouTube also ciphers the signature key needed to access the direct URL for some videos and a temporary solution for now is to redirect to invidio.us and let it decipher the signature and then redirect to the direct video URL. This isn't optimal since it relies on invidio.us staying online. A proper javascript method would be preferred but it will have to do for now.
Some YouTube videos are also "ghost removed" when they get reported for ((( ))) or whatever and the only way to watch them is via dedicated YouTube downloading programs. JDownloader2 works well in my experience. An example of such a video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=m1paYMIKF2Y (Mr Bond - hooknose).
Finally I also made a companion userscript for 8chan that converts all HookTube embeds and links to YouTube instead - see pic related. It also makes it so that when you click on embeds they instead open the YouTube URL in a new tab and then lets the main userscript do its job.

FuckJewTube8chan - https://vdn.neocities.org/MISC/JS/FuckJewTubeRedChannit.user.js
To use them simply get a userscripts addon like Greasemonkey or Tampermonkey (Tampermonkey is recommended since Greasemonkey doesn't support GM_Download) and click on the download links. Obviously don't use both the regular and slowpoke edition together. If you got the older versions without auto-update support, then manually remove the old ones.
Edit: OP Updated
Old Thread is past page 10 so time for a new one.
Few points of note:
1) This thread is strictly focused on /vg/ meta discussion. This is not a dumping ground for your personal drama or other board discussion. Non-/vg/ meta will likely be deleted.
2) There's a few threads that host/hosted servers for games posted in the Server Sticky that might need updated. If anons find any server info that is out of date feel free to report it or post in the meta thread. Server Sticky: >>27332
3) In regards to concerns of "gacha" shit among other things there is need to come out with clear definitions of what is and isn't vidya. Can't ban something just because you don't like it but if something is flatout illegal well there is just cause to ban it.
Other than that if you have any points related to /vg/ ask away. As usual if you have any suggestions, gripes or feel like calling me a cunt for something I may have done wrong use this thread. If you think I might have missed an issue don't be afraid to keep posting about it till you get a response.

ALRIGHT YOU FUCKING NIGGERS, THERE IS STILL MUCH WE CAN SAVE BEFORE ITS TOO LATE
Right now, there are (((google)))-cached versions of many download pages where you can still download the shit from
We need to get on this shit right fucking now, if we start coordinating we can have most of it backed up to anons and easily shared in share threads or some other archives at later times, but we have to fucking hurry
Focus on niche shit first, japanese versions, unusual shit that's hard to find and so on and move up to the more mainstream shit is what I'd recommend.
I'll get the PSX/PSP e-boots and neo geo shit going
STEPS TO DOING THIS
Use a search engine to look up the page you're trying to download from
Hit the little green arrow next to the search result that will say "cached"
Download
And for right now that's it, we can upload this shit later
I've got the Neo Geo full-ROM set downloaded so far; dunno if there's any individual ones I'm missing

Yes, certain ISPs are unable to connect to PSO2 servers.
No, Sega is not intentionally blocking ISPs
The cause actually falls on Yahoo.jp, which hosts the Sega game servers.
Trimmed some dead links but I didn't check them all, ask if you need help on anything.
Seeing as a bunch of romsites have gone bust recently, with Emuparadise being the latest victim (>>71266 & >>71312), it's good time to get a share thread going on /vg/.
This thread is dedicated to sharing vidya downloads with your fellow anons. In order to keep links alive for as long as possible, we're going to use the simple obfuscation technique of hiding archives inside images/videos. This should keep them more safe from archival bots, normalfags and the Jewtendo Defense Force. To hide an archive containing your link in a .txt inside an image/video, create a new file called "_merge.bat" for example and paste the following:
copy /b "%~1".* + "%~2".* "%~n1 (merged)%~x1".*
Then simply select the archive and image/video that you want to merge and drag via the image/video the two files into the "_merge.bat" - NOTE: It's VERY important that you drag via the image/video or the image/video will be merged into the archive, which we don't want. If this is too complicated for you, then you can edit the .bat to the following instead and rename your image/video and archive to match it (exchange .webm and .7z for the file formats in use).
copy /b image-video.webm + archive.7z image-video-merged.webm
To see if you succeeded at merging your archive into the image/video, right click and open it with 7-zip or another archival program and it should show you the files that were inside the archive. If you don't use WangBlows you should be able to figure it out yourself and if your (((WangBlows 10))) can't handle the above .bat scripts, then try using a search engine to figure out what Microshit fucked up.
Instead of being a nigger and copy pasting the shit from the /v/ share thread, try to share some OC links. It's a good idea to reupload existing stuff, especially things from archive.org since it gets hit by purges from time to time. Make sure to describe the contents of your obscured links when you post, or add some hints into the image/video itself. If you want to, you can follow the additional obfuscation technique used in the links file inside .webm #2 related. If you're not a retarded niggerfaggot, you should also be able to guess the password for the .webm #2 related and the additional archive inside.
It currently includes some of the links from the Weeaboo Toaster club threads, some archive.org fullsets & bits and pieces, a HTML document with links to PS1 Classics .pkg files from Sony's official unprotected servers :^) which you can use following the included instructions and two huge HTML documents with PS1 redump verified dumps (very shitty filehosts, these could use reuploading - I mainly use this to get hard to get redump dumps). I'll update this pack every now and when we get enough links to add to it.
Mabinogi is a very unique MMO that isn't just another WoW clone. There are no classes, just a bunch of different skill types and you can invest in any of them as you like. This game places a large emphasis on non-combat skills, and has many activities to do besides fighting enemies.
IF YOU DECIED TO PLAY
Be sure to make a human for your first character, even if you don't want to play a human. Humans can travel to the leader of Giants and the leader of Elves to obtain character slots of each, but Giants and Elves can't do this. These extra characters are at least good for extra bank space, and can be used as mules. If you messed up by making a Giant or Elf first, the server's admins should allow up to 3 seperate accounts, in case you wanted to play a different race.
The server website is http://mabinogi.ir/

Will be called 1.76 elona custom INSTALL ME TO THE ELONA DIRECTORY
This brings about some quality of life changes and general improvements to the game as well as letting you customize things like pet AI, and teach them skills, makes it easier to feed them, highly recommended. I believe you just extract the game to the elona main folder and launch from the coffee cup icon. Made by some qt named annabannana and more recently taking up the torch a guy named bloodyshade. The version of custom has to match the version of elona plus
>what the fuck is this
A jap roguelike with an overworld and no permadeath, with a bunch of sand box elements, its though to nail down. Can be played a ton of different ways like being a farmer who grows magic items as well as veggies, a piano player who get rocks thrown at him, be a valiant warrior who breaths fire, be a magical caster and nuke the map killing everything including your pets, be charismatic as fuck and have lots of followers. Expect to get you ass kicked a bit but once you get going its nice.
Can be a bit grind heavy once you get settled though. Join in on the fun!

This thread is for discussion of pinball and pinball vidya, from IRL tables, to Space Cadet, to Pinball Arcade and even Zen Pinball.
As of the writing of this thread, Pinball Arcade has been discontinued, and most of the good tables have been rendered unpurchasable. Thankfully, there is a DLC unlocker for the Steam version (which is free, by the way).
In other words, yarharring is the only viable option to get the hidden tables, so yarhar away.

Deus Ex
>I haven't played this before, what do I need?
Why the fuck haven't you played it yet you fucking nigger? Regardless you'll want to play the game vanilla/no mods so just install it and go. Try to avoid (more) spoilers about it until you're done.
Optionally if you're on a modern OS e.g. Windows 7 use Deus Exe and the Direct3D 10 renderer (mostly this prevents shadows looking all fucked up but it will also look a little bit better) https://pcgamingwiki.com/wiki/Deus_Ex#Deus_Exe (also see the bit just above it about the better maps)
>I've played it a few times before and want to try it with a mod
I'll run through some of the biggest names (pcgamingwiki also covers these), there are a ton more you can either ask anons ITT for or find yourself
New Vision: most of the games textures remade into HD. Doesn't change the game's artstyle so I can either take it or leave it.
HDTP: replaces models and textures with new ones, new character models are often radically different and clash with existing ones. Don't recommend unless you can remove the cancer.
Shifter: minor gameplay changes for loot, augmentations, enemies. The new unique loot is usually overpowered, the random loot means you can find extra augmentations and weapon upgrades on anyone and the mod gives you fucking XP for kills and stealth so really it fucks up the game and I don't recommend it.
Biomod: shifter but with new features and no XP for kills. Better than Shifter but still not a huge fan of it.
GMDX: probably most fairly described as vanilla+, makes the game a bit harder too. Good for when you've played the base game to death already. Has additional addons available on its moddb page and comes with both New Vision and HDTP already but disables most of the cancer HDTP added (it uses the meshes as a basis for its own work I believe). Far better than the two others I've played (Shifter and Biomod) in my opinion, would largely recommend.
Nihilum: haven't played it but it labels itself as Deus Ex in an 'alternate continuity' so expect major gameplay changes.
Deus Ex: Revision: an entire remake/re-imagining of the game. I've not tried this yet and I've heard mixed things from anons, I think it has a NG+ mode though and the maps have been changed up so there's again content for a veteran player burnt out on the base game.
Malkavian Mod: Deus Ex but insane shitposting, good fun but very short. Also the source of many meme webms.
Unreal Revolution: a mod made to complain about Human Revolution, very short and the moddb page has been deleted. You'd be as well to just look up someone playing it on youtube.
The Nameless Mod: a total conversion with entire storyline replacement, new weapons and so on. Highly recommend.
Invisible War
>Everyone says I should skip this, is that true?
No, it's obviously a massive letdown from the first game both being console focussed at a time when that meant serious trade-offs in gameplay (the levels are all chopped up into little chunks with fucking loading screens) and designed with focus group use (leading to nonsense like the universal ammo) but there's value in playing it at least once if only to make up your own mind on it. In my opinion, loading screens everywhere aside, it's no worse a sequel than Human Revolution and it at least doesn't try and force you down the stealth/non-lethal path. Use this fanpatch (yes apparently the game has fans, who knew?) to run the game properly in widescreen http://www.ttlg.com/forums/showthread.php?t=147423

This thread is just going to be a one time thing, in order to get the attention of anyone interested and give them time to play and get used to the game and also to establish the /vg/ guilds for both factions. After this thread dies, all discussion will be move to the warhammer general threads, so that way we don't clog up the catalog.
Download:
https://www.returnofreckoning.com/join.php
Just follow the steps, the devs provide a torrent and a regular download. The game should work (almost) flawlessly as it is actively being worked on, but if there are any questions, feel free to ask ITT.
Where are the guilds?
Sadly, we need to have a full party of 6 players first, in order to make a fucking guild (see guild creation image). So we'll try to achieve this goal on Thursday or Friday, at around 6pm UTC, almost like a gamenight but not really, we don't expect the guild(s) to be active constantly, but it gives anons an option to play together if they're bored.
To be made guild names:
Destruction:
"Vidya Gitz"
Order:
"The ELF Community?" or "Happy Merchants".
Feel free to suggest other names for the guilds, as I am not very creative.
Go ahead and join whichever faction you prefer, you have 20 character slots so you can play around with them and see which playstyle suits you best, or have a character so you can join both sides. Don't forget to check and rebind your controls just incase they don't sit well with you.

Questions That Don't Deserve Their own Thread - There wasn't a thread edition
Maybe this could be a cyclical.
Starting out:
Just got a legit copy of Nier for my playstation triple, should I first learn something like where all the sidequests are or just go in blind for the first run?
I know there are multiple endings, I just don't want to end up doing the same one twice because I fucked up on my previous route.
A thread for vidya that encompasses all things at sea. Whether you are a bloodthirsty Pirate on an 18-Gun Sloop plundering the Seven Seas, a daring U-Boat Captain hunting Allied shipping in the Atlantic or even a cunning Chinese Skipper sinking US Destroyers with his Cargoship in the South China Sea, this is a thread where you are welcome.
There's already threads for Windward and Rule the Waves so I don't want to steal much of their thunder. Instead just link them and the downloads to their games. What I might do is see if I can find an old link to Silent Hunter III and see if it still works.

And no, it's not shilling if I'm doing it for free.
>had gaming friends since middle school
>lose them to a combination of WoW, DOTA, and League of Legends
>raging and yelling, any arbitrary moment I go into the Ventrilo channel
>can't really talk about anything else
>fast forward 10 years
>they still play to this day (except DOTA)
>we used to play WC3 and they're the only ones I know that'd try an RTS
>invite them to play another game I got really fond of
>game is free to play
>game supports linux
>game has non-steam release
>game supports LAN
>game literally has no barriers to play
>they try it for a total of 2 hours or less and go back to the same games
I seem to end up in some niche community, trying to build the community with custom maps or original content, but it always feels like a struggle in some respects.
Is a game's popularity always going to be driven by a social media personality and marketing these days?
NEW OPTIONS ADDED
>2007-2010 modes allow for a true Vintage experience (and also deprecate TF2007 in the process)
>Community voting abilities enabled alongside even more configurations allowing TF2V to cater to a wide audience
>New gameplay models added for casual, hardcore and even e-sport leagues to set server rules
>Ultiduo confirmed for working on TF2V (which means by extension the other competitive TF2 gamemodes will as well)
Other news
>New UI and startup icon coming in next update
>BLU flamethrower no longer Canadian
>Bunch of other team fixes for weapons
>New Server builds in the works, making it even easier to host your own TF2V server
>TF2V vs TF2C friendlies cancelled for the foreseeable future
>TF2C head devs jump ship, remaining devs cancel beta access to over half of the remaining playerbase for not playing enough

WHERE ARE THE WEAPONS?
While a few weapons have been introduced (flare gun, kritzkreig, gunboats, LnL, Direct Hit). Right now its still on the backburner. We're looking for help for weapons, some would be easier to do than others (backburner, paintrain)
4X is simultaneously the comfiest and most addictive of genres . Now we can discuss all day which is the best even though it's obviously picrelated but there's a more interesting debate: turn based or real time?
My vote goes for turn based since the real time games I'm most familiar with are either too heavy on the micromanagement or play too slowly to be worth having in real time at all (Sins of a Solar Empire is a good example of that).

FAKE NEWS
This just in, IRC has officially reached "peak gay". More and more trannies are ousting themselves for attention, and literal faggots are flaunting about how much cock they suck. This tengu can finally see that there is no hope for Man, for Man was not ready to deal with liberalism. Indeed, even the once mighty teenbro cabal has succumbed to the gay. An involuntary survey conducted confirms that the gay rate in the cabal is at least 56%. The future is a grim one.
Traffic on /jp/ is surprisingly on the rise as threads on /v/ recline further into nothingness. This anal fanatic reporter has come up with two possible causes for this surge in activity. /a/ is either still raiding the war-torn board or the lonely weekly Kamen Rider streams have brought in a record breaking 2 new users. As for the /v/ threads, perhaps it's time to let it die?
A young South American boy continues to amaze local shitposters with his primary skills by virtue of actually playing video games. That's right, a 3rd worlder is better than you Anon. When approached for a comment, the only word I could make out from him was
>wew
This seems to be some kind of universal pickup line, but this tengu does not do kids no matter what local law enforcement would have you believe.
You may hear about another tengu sometime this week. I will deny any allegations in advance that I locked her in my sex dungeon and had my way with her for trying to compete with my friendly local reporting agency. Don't believe her lies, she's a massive slut.
If anyone has a HOT LOAD TIP they want to share with their friendly local reporting agency, this tengu is MORE THAN WILLING to perform sexual favors in exchange for information. INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO: Enema treatments, Anal training, Neg Pozzing, shit eating, and throwing down in the ring. (If you think you can beat me 1, 2, 3.) Find me on Collarspace for more details.
This has been your friendly local reporting tengu, signing off.
I'm starting to believe 16:9 killed vertical level design, at least for first person games.
One of the hardest things I had to adjust to when using a CRT was the 4:3 aspect ratio. My eyes kept darting off screen and it was annoying as fuck. However, once I got use to it I started to notice the image on screen came together much better. I started have more awareness of how the level was laid out vertically. Even details in the ceiling such as rafters, ventilation, holes in the roof, tress in the distance, the skybox, etc stood out.
Any other anon's experience this or am I just on crazy pills.
So been playing F1 on my phone and I got to necropolis. The thing is something strange happened
>Enter necropolis
>See instance of Ian,Tycho and Dogmeat
>Think nothing of it till we start moving
>Notice a copy of them is left behind
>Think it's a graphical bug
>Enter sewers, bug isn't there
>Resurface after talking to rebel leader of ghouls
>There are more of them
>Think game is just bugging out since talking to them focuses on the originals
>Get to water shed
>Tons of ITD
>Time to kill the super mutants
>After my move it turns out the clones are counted as NPCs
>Each of them gets a combat turn
>Mutants cut down by a army of Ians, Tychos and Dogmeats
>Ians shooting Ians in the back
>Super Mutants killed in less than 2 turns
So let's talk about fallout, the good ones

and other obscure shit

This general isn't to replace other threads talking specific horror titles but those can be disused about here too.
SpOoKy TeXt HeRe
So what do you do when you want to play a video game but instead you spend the entire day just staring at your games list or backlog and have no idea what to play and being bored all day? Are there any active online games that are worth playing purely as a timesink, just to avoid this feeling?
I recently finished a game and have countless others sitting on my desktop, and while I have the desire to knock them off my backlog, I can't decide what to play and end up not touching any of them, or worse, booting one up, feeling ultra bored and regretting the decision before closing the game and going back to square one. This also expanded to other activities like watching a show/cartoon/anime/jewtube or listening to music, but I want to keep it exclusive to vidya.
It's like a video game version of Writer's block, it fucking sucks.
Edit: Tidied up spacing.
This thread is for upcoming releases, both professional and amateur, full games, expansions, and mods alike. Tell us why you're excited to see a game come out, or why you expect to see it fail. If this thread survives long enough for some of these games to be released, it could even be for reviews.
Edit: I fixed OP's formatting but I want everyone to remember to bully him for messing up his line breaks.
Old thread here:
A thread dedicated to all things Novalogic.
>Talk about the shitty coding and impossible programming they did that puts most slavshit to shame.
>Confuse yourself over a voxel engine thats held together with spit and chewed gum.
>Enjoy a nostalgia trip or finally try out the game that your dad/uncle/grandpa always played when he wasn't working.
>Talk about Joint Operations, post radical moments.
>Delta Force Angel Falls and JO RADmod 3.0 never fucking ever.
News:
>RADmod devs return to finish 3.0 (or to go crazy, whichever comes first.)
>JO RADmod 2.5 gamenight two weeks ago. Was fun and half of the anons got banned off goyranger.
>Novalogic can't into guns or anything other than god-tier netcode.
>Nothing else to say as this is a dead gamedev company.
Feel free to post anything Novalogic related, even from JO gamenights. I suggest anons try the other simulators NL has made; If you like attack choppers play Comanche, If you like Jet fighters you got F22, F16 and MiG29, If you like tanks you got armored fist.
Mario's Wacky Worlds never ever ;_;
Edit: Added old thread link.
Zombie games have never really clicked with me personally since they're usually just a case of fighting mindless repetitive enemies and rehashing locations from whatever popular film you care to mention, really you can argue that as enemies they're one of the laziest possible choices. If the devs bother to give them any variety at all it's usually just slow but horde, fast but weak and maybe a tankier special variant. How do we fix these issues? Perhaps go for non-zombie zombies that have some origin, I know The Last of Us was a typical shit-tier overly-scripted movie-game but it tried that. Alternatively I guess you can go full on fun like Dead Rising.
A team of devs are finally making a /k/-tier autism, tacticool Cold War FPS
https://www.escalation1985.com/
Seemingly born out of a Squad mod, a set of devs are actually doing what /k/ / /v/ ideas guys can only dream of.
OVERVIEW
>Escalation 1985 is a stand alone, authentic, online multiplayer first person shooter. Featuring a wide variety of period authentic weapons and vehicles, large maps, and focusing on teamwork, communication, dynamic and emergent gameplay. Escalation 1985 depicts what it would have been like if the cold war had truly gone hot in 1985.
>With the help of the Unreal 4 engine, Escalation 1985 aims for high visual fidelity, using highly detailed and accurate models, and the latest in material, lighting and effects techniques with the aim to bring the player a truly immersive experience.
>The game is centered around mechanised infantry and tanks. These vehicles will transport and spawn players on the battlefield.
>The players are divided in two 50 players team which are again divided into squads lead by Squad Leaders. Tanks are organised into platoons that are led by the Tank Platoon Commanders with each Tank being crewed by a tank commander, driver and gunner.
It has all sorts of radical shit:
>RO2-style grand campaign in multiplayer
>Chemical warfare, you can literally melt a fucker's face off with a full gore system to compliment it
>Tanks with full interiors with "Simulator grade combat"
>Big ol' maps with around 100 players
>Dynamic day/night and weather cycles
>Morale system, can break the enemy's will with bakelite AKs, WMDs, and the NVA's weird-ass 4-finger gloves
>An absolutely bitching Synthwave soundtrack
I watched a dev stream and based on the level of detail he was putting into a singular smoke grenade and how the devs are encouraging their fans to find obscure-ass manuals and pictures on weapons and equipment of the time for reference and rewarding them for it, it's gonna be a /k/ simulator.
It is apparently going to be first released to backers of the game and such this summer so we'll have gameplay then, until then they have a Discord server and regular streams to show off what they're doing.
Now that God of Soy has been forgotten, are you ready for the next (((critically acclaimed))) flavor of the month game experience™ that has barely any game in it?
Edit: I'll say here what was said in that other thread, in future low-effort OPs like this will probably get bumplocked. Won't touch this once since it's already active.
What are some good licensed games? What made them good? Did the owner of the franchise just pull the right strings like Disney's deal with Capcom, or did some unknown developer pull it off? Interestingly Shadowrun, Star Wars, True Lies, and Super Smash TV were made by the same people as those shitty Back to the Future games. According to one of the devs they got dicked around a lot by management which probably explains why they were hit and miss. What are some more cases like this? What about games that were ruined by corporate meddling? also, post unholy abominations like the last pic
Time to get this started.
News
In Acefag news Ace Combat Infinity shutdown recently and there seems to be a hint of a remastered collection coming.
IL-2 Sturmovik: Battle of Stalingrad released Battle of Kuban last month to skub tier applause. IL-2 Sturmovik: Cliffs of Dover looks like it got a remaster not that nobody seemed to notice nor care.
DCS world looks like it's getting the F-14 in game soon.
Microsoft Flight Simulator X updated the Spitfire model so better spend those shekels goyim :^)
Vidya
Unfortunately don't have anything really in the way of downloads for anons to enjoy at present, but hopefully that will change soon.
All I can recommend is Ysflight, a flight sim made by an Autistic Nip Student that is pretty easy to get into. Loads of addons as well, could easily recreate the plane scene in game.
CHINA NUMBA 1 EDITION
So this piece of shit nostalgia grab was just ripped from Chinese factories and scammed as a kickstarter "Original" design. That being said, what kind of controllers do you like anons? Have any hardware recommendations or warnings? Any anons here use a fighting stick anymore?
These postings were found in relation to the bait controller.
I've been debating whether or not to make this thread due to the game being indev but fuck it I kinda want to talk about it.
What is it?
Kenshi is an open ended sandbox game where you can control a squad of guys and try not to starve to death, get killed by bandits, get killed/eaten by wildlife, get eaten by cannibals, get enslaved, or get beaten up and put in jail for being poor.
The games uses swords and crossbows with a jap flair to it. Instead of longswords you get katanas and shit and drink sake.
You can kinda choose how you want to play. Lone warrior with a dog? Group of thieves? Build a base then get kicked out by bandits and taxed by holy nation niggers? Raid old ruins and get one shotted by pissed off robots? There are a few different ways. Its been in dev for a while but the faggot has picked up speed and is rapidly approaching the 1.0. He even got in "luxury" features like dismemberment, robot arms, and crossbows added in a big update. At some point the ability to make your own fullblow faction will come which is sorely needed right now but I have a feeling that will be with the next update with the rest of the map.
My one complaint is that it can get kinda boring without as long term goal, you can build a bit of a settlement right now but without the faction system it still feels a bit off. Good fun for a while though.
I have the gog version but I don't really know where to upload it if an anon has a suggestion.
>We'll never have a WWII/Cold War-inspired shooter game that incorporates the gameplay, sound design and charm of Battlefield games pre-BF3 and the comically absurdist art design and animation of Metal Slug
>Complete with ridiculous designs/technology such as tiny one-man tanks that can jump, mechs that can transform into helicopters, land battleships, soft-skin vehicles with disproportionately oversized guns and all manners of crazy-yet sufficiently believable machines of war
>All of this while taking itself seriously despite not being 100% realistic ala Command & Conquer
Why is fun so hard to come by these days? Why does every modern-day war vidya have to be based on real world stuff all the time?
Discuss anything Total War here
So CA just showed some Three kingdoms footage, and it looks pretty good, Open Siege battles from the get go, fluid animations with no janky blobbing and shittiness, clean informative UI.
They might actually pull this off by the looks of it, but stay aware of any bullshit move.

So anons, don't know if /vg/ any interest in this type of stuff, but I figured I would make a quick thread for it. Do you make games anons?
Not necessarily talking about the games though fell free to discuss them as well. More so the places that housed that you could go to and enjoy and said machines.
When I was growing up there used to be a few scattered around town but they quickly started closing down. Most ended up merged with entertainment centers in shopping malls before eventually they stopped as well. Now I just don't see arcades about at all.
Was wondering what anons thought about them and how they did in other countries?
So with SRW X on the horizon who else is excited?
>Original Mazinkaiser is back
>Cybuster returns, possibly as a plot essential unit
>Beltorchika's children is in.
Right now though I'm playing Ghiren's Greed: Menace of Axis V for the PSP. Playing Titans and it seems right now the best plan I've got is mass producing the Psyco Gundam Mk. II and using it in offensive pushes and as guards for the boundaries of my held territories.
This is a thread that happens every now and then, but this time, I think the tone is going to be a lot different. We can still mourn the loss of the game, but a bit of hope has come up on the horizon. As the thread name suggests, this is a thread for City of Heroes, a now-defunct MMO that had a somewhat tragic and confusing death some years ago. However, things seem to be changing; there was Titan Icon or whatever which let you create characters years back, and then Paragon Chat which let you explore the game and chat with people or something. Some things went on back when in this thread
>https://www.cohtitan.com/forum/index.php?topic=9675.0
but from what I've heard from my dad, who played the game from 2004 to the very end, things didn't work out so well for them. Anyways, a new thing called SEGS is in the works, and is mostly why I wanted to make this thread and why I think these threads might have actual people playing video games in them in the future. It's some kind of private server thing that allows you to host private servers and even upload your own content for custom missions and such. It sounds really fun and I can imagine /vg/ having a blast installing various mods and making the game really shine as their own. There's a thread for it here:
Anybody else excited for this? I can't wait to play this with people here as this game was probably one of the best MMO's I've played in my life and had a really neat atmosphere and vibe to it, too. I guess we can talk about recent developments in trying to bring the game back and memories of the game as well. I'll be posting whatever else I can find about SEGS, too.
